Nosey and Grumpy are my male and female Boa Constrictor Occidentalis (Argentine Boas) and each is 14 feet long and at 100+ pounds and they have been handled and worked with since they were babies now at 15 years of age. They are on the Endangered Species List Appendix 1 C.I.T.E.S. List.
The quality of time that you invest handling and working with your snakes has everything to do with their ability to trust people and to be very people friendly social animals. There is no reason to fear snakes because of their size but there is every reason to respect them for what they are :)

Tawny my adult Colubrid (Corn Snake) has OCD she can't stand for her food to touch her skin Each snake has it's own individual personality and disposition just like people do and that's what sets them apart from each other. Snakes can be very entertaining and make great companions :o)

People always ask me why my snakes are so tame and why they don't strike at people so I'm making this video to better explain all the extra time and quality care that I invest with each snake to insure they trust people and remain social animals.

Confident
Alpha males know they are the shit. Whether they are or not to someone else doesn’t really matter. Alpha males believe in themselves and aren’t afraid to show it physically, vocally or through action and thoughts.
When’s the last time you saw an alpha male that was afraid or second guessing themselves? Usually they just go for it because they are that confident.
Have Intangibles (Mentally Tough)
When I say intangibles, I’m talking about the right mentality. Alphas always think they are a winner. Sure they might fail once in awhile, but they get over it really fast and just move on.
They know that they will eventually succeed if they keep trying. Alpha males do not give up just because they failed once
Competitive
Alpha males don’t like to lose. They want to win.
They don’t just want to win, they want to beat the hell out of you and make you remember they won.
Everything they do in life is a competition. They want to be the best. Competition drives them. But they don’t do it to show off. It’s because they truly believe they should be winning all the time.
Make competition your friend. It will make you better in all parts of your life.

Something so many overlook is that no two snakes are the same. They each have their own personality and temperament and they get in bad moods and have good and great days. All of these different behaviors indicates that snakes do in fact display feelings and emotions. Jade my female Coastal Carpet Python in this video is a very moody and sometimes unpredictable snake and yet Chewy my male Coastal Carpet Python is extremely calm and placid and never changes his moods.

I made this video primarily to show people the true nature of snakes that are used to human interaction and that are used to a great quality of life. :)
News Flash !!! Snakes Are Not Aggressive !! They Are Defensive And Curious !! If harassed a snake will come at you to warn you off and if they feel threatened at that time they may become aggressive but normally they only strike to defend their lives and in the case of captive snakes some strike and bites happen when feeding snakes. It really bothers me to hear people refer to snakes as aggressive :(

Going to be such a bummer :( Chewy has spent 3 weeks priming for his shed and I was up til 3 in the morning watching him and filming his shed and unfortunately he has no idea that his friend Deffer, the cat is no longer with us. Chewy was her constant companion and they spent all their time hanging out together when he was out. After a couple of days rest I will take him out and he will realize his friend is gone and that's going to be sad for me :(

I love observing my snakes daily to learn more about them from their behavior and actions. I reunited my adult female Tawny with her babies that were almost a year old for the purpose of observing their behavior and everything I witnessed was a total display of affection between the female and her babies the same twitching body mechanics that a male and female display when they are courting and the babies were too young to be trying to court the female, Yet so many people swear that snakes have no emotional bond with people or with each other.
