Beijing China and US agree to restart trade talks in October

China and the US agreed to restart talks in Washington in October 2019 in a bid to soothe escalating tensions in their trade war. It would be the first face-to-face meeting between top officials since July 2019. Beijing said a phone call between both sides early on Sept 5 went "very well".
